Screaming Muscles and Priesty Goodness

Ok, first of all - had a great time with my brother last night on the so-called-mountain. It was crazy busy because of president's week. However, that did not stop us from hitting up the park - though we shyed away from the pipe. General rule of thumb: Olympic halfpipes are generally maintained at a higher standard that those of WNY. The example you see, is that of the higher standard; those of the lower standard are more like icepipes laden with frozen chunks - not conducive to back-to-back 1080s. Anyway, despite an almost completely beef-free night, my muscles are screaming at me.

In another world, I am a squishy. Guess what? Squishies just got buffed. I can't really comment on it just yet - still speechless. If you're not familiar with the game, let's just say that Blizzard just gave us a huge dose of steroids.

And in other news, I found out that "Private Eyes" by Hall and Oates was #1 on the Billboard Charts the day I was born. Maybe that's why I hated Top 40 so much in high school...

I WIN AT LIFE!

...well, at some points, anyway.

Unfortunately, I can't allude to the great yogurt pickup line. Sorry for the Bond reference, had to - especially with the news of the new Bond girl. Gotta say, she looks a bit cracked-out for my taste; sickly looking, at least in that CNN photo. That isn't to say she's a junkie - just looks the role.

Now to the pith. Today, I walked into the stacks looking for images (as close to original publications as possible) for a timeline one of my colleagues is working on for an exhibit. One of the items we have is a rare, handwritten copy of a very famous poem - and it will be displayed in the exhibit. It is, possibly, one of the most valuable items in the entire collection - and I touched it. I should be more specific: I touched the custom made archival casing for it. Why do I differentiate? Because even just picking the item up (in a case specifically made to keep it safe from the likes of me) made me physically shiver. Despite recent life-altering events, I like to consider myself fairly solid (somewhere between here and here, maybe here). But even still, just the thought of handling something that is worth more than my life shook me.

now packed with protein!

Updating the links column - let me know what you think. Also, created a flickr accout (albeit a bit premature, as I have yet secure a digital camera).

Holding down the fort until the boss lady gets back from her long weekend in LA. Must get back to work, lunch is just about over.

Peppered, eh?

If you haven't heard, Dick Cheney was involved in a hunting accident (follow this link and click on the video entitled "Cheney's Got a Gun").

Now, you may ask yourself "How can I avoid a savage peppering?" Well, check out the story on the new Cheney Alert System.

Andy Borowitz announced this morning on CNN's American Morning that we are currently at an ELEVATED level - which means we don't know when or where the vice-president may strike next.

Mund-day (Update)

2 posts in one day - amazing, ain't it?

First of all, I'm passive-aggressively responding to the accusation that I am passive-aggressive.

Secondly, LISNews.org has a great mock interview with the RIAA - check it out.

That's all folks.

Mund-day

What does this little piggy do on the weekends? Oh yeah, stuff my face full of great food and guzzle it down with way too much alcohol. Dioynsus would be proud.

Anyway, gotta keep it short today cause I have to assemble a girl's pedal car for an exhibit. But, I will say this: whoever thought it was a good idea to distinguish a "girl's" car by painting it this color should be tortured. Also, I set up a Flickr account and in the market for a digital camera. Any suggestions? All I know right now is I want more than 5 megapixels and an optical zoom.

Also, go watch the olympics. Support the US. If you don't, we can logically infer that you must hate our troops. In addition, you must hate kittens (see "naughty" link below) and eat babies. Shaun White took the gold with an AMAZING run with 46.8 and I think I woke up the poor lady below me in celebration ('cause if you saw the run, you knew he won right then and there). Congratulations Shaun and the US Men's Halfpipe Team! Tonight the women's competition will be aired for the same event (though it's already complete, so don't check the web cause you'll see results).

By the way: check out my friend's blog, great story. Though, she didn't cite her source (NAUGHTY LIBRARIAN!).
