Here comes the pain...

While I haven't been playing WoW much recently, I have been keeping up with the patch notes. Now, while I'm no expert, my years back in the EQ Beta do give me some perspective - and I think that the guys over at PA are right on.

...and now for something completely different.

I just want to say how much I wish I could go to this event. Unfortunately, I have finals the day that it is running and very little money to travel. You may or may not know, I held a LAN Party at Buffalo State Library with mild success. I temper that success with the qualifier "mild" (using our visual aid, think somewhere between green and blue; perhaps teal) because I had planned for about 30 people and only got 10. The library was gracious enough to pay for a company to bring in all the equipment and set it all up, and I didn't mind matching the guys for every pizza they bought (which only turned out to be 1 from them and 1 from me). Needless to say, it was good time and the guys I that came have been after me to throw another. Unfortunately, I don't know that I will be in the area much longer. Now if only I could find a job...

Echoes from the Canyon

Ok, so because our holiday plans have been completely shattered (due to circumstances beyond all control), I had to figure out what I wanted to do for that amalgamated holiday that starts somewhere around November 20th and doesn't seem to end till after the New Year.

So, what would any self-respecting glutton for pushishment ask for? Of course! Another instrument of my own destruction; complete with shiny new restraints for a big foot!

Well, anyway, it is Sunday morning and I only have two weeks of classes left with so much time, and so little to do. Strike that, reverse it!

Thanksgiving

I'm not the sentimental type, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and it's been an especially tough one for me. So, I want to list some of the things I'm thankful for:

My family - who make me who I am
My friends - whose support has done more than you'll ever know
Turkey - because tryptophan and beer naps are the best ever
Beer - because it is the best drink ever
Cards - because Euchre and learning new card games is possibly the best thing to do while eating turkey and drinking beer.
American Indian students - who give me perspective on a holiday whose history is bathed in blood

This is a short list, but I wanted to list a few things that have helped me through the day. It's been a very strange and difficult holiday, and there are more to come, but I've made it through and I plan on seeing another. Thank you family, friends, turkey, beer, cards, and indians - I love you all.

"What's this?

...there's white things in the air."

Well, yes, there are white things in the air. But they don't concern me all that much. In fact, I'm hoping to make use of them very soon.

Anyway, just wanted to start actually using this blog. My old one was nice - but due to certain RL issues, I'm going to avoid it for blogging purposes.

So the good news is, I had two interviews last week. But, let me just say how much I loathe phone interviews. Now, I'm not the most socially in-tune person, but when dealing with something as important as a job interview I'd like to actually see the person. Oh well, you can't always get what you want. Regardless, I think the phone interview went well; I'll find out after Turkey day if they want to set up a face-to-face. Which brings me to my next interview; it went very well, methinks. Again, I must clench off my piddles of joy until the week after I gorge myself on turkey, 'taters, and beer.

Hopefully I'll be able to liven this page up a bit once I get myself a digital camera - or figure out how to transfer my phone pictures to my computer. Now, work calls.
