Holiday Parties and Many Happy Returns

So...went to the office party of the group where I worked my G.A. We sat around, ate, made merry, and all stared at the food for about 3 full minutes before anyone said or did anything before going back to work. However, I was not going back to work, I had to drive back home in a blizzard. But, it was a happy return.

So, after stuffing my face at a pot luck lunch (which somehow included Buffalo's best pizza and wings), what would I do? Oh yes, come home and shovel as much chinese in my face for my father's birthday...oh yeah, then there was the oreo icecream pie.

On the note of happy returns, my favorite friends on the west coast have returned from their extra-west coast journey. This makes me happy. Hopefully I will see them again soon. Til then, I suggest they look into a small film canister to remind them of the place they have just left. It will ease the pain. :P

A note on Wikipedia...

I love that hive-mind, but it is not an authoritative reference source.

I hate to do this, but Wikipedia has been getting quite a bit of bad press recently, and I feel obligated to link to these stories so we all know that it is not the end all and be all of reference.

With that said, remember this: when in doubt, ask a librarian.

...and thanks for all the fish.

I can't believe it - today I took my last class of my master's program. Not only that, I have a job starting January 4th. I would tell you where, or provide a link, but I won't link to my new employer without permission. So, if you'd like to know, just shoot me an email - or better yet, call!

I can tell you that it is in the Rochester area, and that my brother and I have a new apartment to move into next week! It's all still sinking in, so I'll leave you with some wonderful lyrics:

i sucked that hot air in
and rolled upon the sand
emerged beneath the sun
to be a man

Just a quick note...

This man is a genius. Love the comic, love the show (glad it's not on Fox), wish I could find his website. If you happen to work for or happen to be Aaron McGruder, please send me a link with his website - if he has one. If not, with all due respect, get on it already.

1 Week to Go...

I'm not really sure how I got here - I can't believe I only have 1 week of school left. Well, actually - just a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. This weekend, I found an apartment with my brother and we're getting ready to move in a couple weeks before Xmas.

If you were unfortunate enough to follow that last link, you'll know my fear. A Christmas Story is, by far, my mother's favorite holiday movie. Now, I'm not saying I dislike it, but I would rather take a cheese grater to my ears than hear Ralphie mentioned that damned decoder ring again. Seriously, turn on TBS when you wake up on Xmas Eve Day and just leave it there for the next 24 hours. Rinse and repeat - for the past 12 years...at least.

...and you wonder why I brought up the new apartment.

By the way, I'm going to experiment and listen to music while I'm getting my blog on - and then leave you with a quote I like from the song that happens to be playing the moment I cease getting my blog on. The song may be cheesy and overplayed...but it may not. So, enjoy:

i don't care if the sun don't shine
and i don't care if nothing is mine
and i don't care if i'm nervous with you
i'll do my loving in the winter
